# Client portal

> A read-only site where a client's people see their own usage, devices, and reports.

The client portal is a separate site at [https://portal.mspilot.io](https://portal.mspilot.io). People you invite sign in there and see only the client you invited them to. They cannot change policy, seats, connectors, or branding. There is no public sign-up. An invitation is the only way in.

The portal is for production clients. A sandbox client has no portal and no report share links.

Owners and admins turn the portal on, invite people, and open the preview. Members can view the tab.

## Turn a client on

Open the client and choose **Portal**. Turn on **Client portal** and choose **Save**. The switch has to be saved before you can invite someone or open a preview.

Under it, tick the sections that client should see:

| Section | What they see |
| - | - |
| **Conversations** | The same conversation list you see, for this client only. If conversation capture is off, the page says you have not enabled conversation history. See [Conversations](/conversations). |
| **Connectors** | Connector totals and recent calls |
| **Global rules** | Cowork instructions, MCP servers, plugins, and skills, read only |
| **AI usage** | Requests, tokens, and a 7, 30, or 90 day range, split by app and by device |
| **Devices** | Machines for this client: hostname, status, seat, last seen, and the last 7 days |
| **Reports** | One month at a time, from the month the client was created through this month, up to 24 months. **Print / Save as PDF** is on their page. |

**Show cost (billable USD)** sits under **AI usage**. It also shows cost on **Devices** and **Reports**. Leave it off to hide dollar amounts.

The portal's **Overview** shows this month's requests, active seats, top app, and connector calls for the sections you left on.

## Invite someone

On the same **Portal** tab, under **People**, enter their email and choose **Invite**. The email contains one link. That link opens the right region. Do not rebuild it.

A new person sets their name and a password of at least 8 characters. A person who already has a portal password enters that password. After they accept, the row is **Active**. Until then it is **Pending**. **Resend** sends the link again. **Revoke** ends the invitation or removes an active person. A revoked person cannot sign in to that client.

Someone in more than one client picks the client after sign in. **Forgot password** on the portal sends a reset link for the region that holds their account.

They can turn on two-step verification from **Security** in the portal menu.

## Look at it first

**Open preview** on the **Portal** tab opens a 10-minute read-only view in a new tab. The banner says it is a preview and that nothing is saved. Enable and save the portal first, and save any edits on the tab before you open it. Reloading the preview tab ends it. Open it again from the dashboard.

## Branding

Organization settings, **Client portal**, sets the look for every client's portal:

* **Portal name**, 60 characters. Empty uses your organization name.
* **Logo**. PNG or SVG, up to 256 KB.
* **Primary color**. `#RRGGBB`.
* **Support email** and **Support URL**. Shown in the portal so the client can reach you.

A preview sits next to the form and follows what you have typed. **Save** stores it. **Open full preview** lists clients that have the portal enabled.

## Share a report

On the client's **Overview**, the **Reports** card has **Share link**. Pick 7, 30, or 90 days. The default is 30. The address is shown once. Copy it then. Anyone with the address can open that month's report without signing in. The page says which MSP shared it.

**Revoke** ends a link. A client can have 10 live links. Revoke one before you create another.
